SYMPTOMS

You exit and then restart Microsoft Outlook. After you do this, the Send to Groove toolbar in Outlook does not remain in the location to which you moved it.

Note If you display the toolbar on a short line, Outlook may move adjacent toolbars onto the same line. This is an Outlook feature. Therefore, it is outside Groove's control.

CAUSE

In Groove Workspace 2.x, this issue occurs because Groove Workspace does not save the location of the Send to Groove toolbar. Groove Workspace also does not save the settings that indicate whether the toolbar is visible. Therefore, the toolbar always appears in its default location.

In Groove Virtual Office 3.x, this issue may occur because you do not have sufficient permissions in the registry.

Groove Virtual Office 3.x saves the location of the toolbar and passes the location back to Outlook for the most consistent display. The save operation fails, and you do not receive an error message if you do not have permissions to write to the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Groove Networks, Inc.\Groove

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue in Groove Virtual Office 3.x, obtain Write permissions to the following subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Groove Networks, Inc.\Groove

Alternatively, ask a user who has Write permissions for this subkey to log on and then to make the corresponding changes in Outlook for you.
