INTRODUCTION

This article describes a synchronization issue in which an item may not be synchronized between Microsoft Outlook and Groove Workspace or Groove Virtual Office if the item is edited in Groove and in Outlook at the same time.

MORE INFORMATION

Consider the following scenario. You synchronize items between Outlook and Groove. One user changes an item in Outlook. Another user changes the same item in Groove at the same time. Then, the Groove user saves the changes before the Outlook user. In this scenario, the Outlook window in which the user is making the change closes when Outlook receives the changes from Groove. If the Outlook user made any changes to the item, these changes will be saved automatically when the Outlook window closes. These changes overwrite the changes that Outlook received from Groove. Therefore, the item in Outlook and the item in Groove will not be synchronized.

To synchronize the item, one of the users must open the item again and then save it. When the user saves the item again, the locally saved version of the item will be saved in Groove and in Outlook.
