INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to stop Microsoft Windows from initiating a dial-up connection when you start Groove Virtual Office or Groove Workspace or when Groove starts automatically.

MORE INFORMATION

Groove does not change your dial-up connection settings. However, Groove does try to connect to the Internet at startup. This behavior triggers a dial-up connection if the following conditions are true:
  • You do not have another active network connection.
  • Windows Internet options are configured to automatically dial if an application tries to access the network when no network connection is available.
To disable automatic dialing, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, click Internet Options, and then click the Connections tab.
  2. Under Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings, click Never dial a connection, and then click OK.
