CAUSE
These problems may occur if either of the following events occurs when Media Center is running:
- An IEEE 1394 device is connected to the computer or is disconnected from the computer.
- You put the computer on standby or in hibernation, and then resume the computer.
The IEEE 1394 bus is reset when either of these events occurs. The problem occurs because when the IEEE 1394 bus is reset, the connection (Login\Reconnect) to the changer fails. Therefore, Media Center loses contact with the Media Changer/Recorder.
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.
