You cannot customize the Workplace area after you import a customization to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 (911496)

SYMPTOMS

You add a new area above the Workplace area in the SiteMap.xml file. After you import this customization to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you cannot customize the Workplace area. The options in the Select Workplace Areas area in the Set Personal Options dialog box are missing. Additionally, the Preview area shows the contents of the first area that is in the SiteMap.xml file.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, add the new area underneath the Workplace area instead of above the Workplace area in the SiteMap.xml file.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
