FIX: A single space is sent to the host instead of the TP name, and a call to the host program fails when you use TCP/IP in Host Integration Server 2004 (908660)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004, the context keyword TPNameOverride in the Transaction Integrator (TI) context array causes a single space to be sent to the host instead of the actual transaction program (TP) name. This problem is an issue when you use a TCP/IP-to-CICS connection on the mainframe. The call to the host program fails, and the following event is written to the application event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: COMTI
Event Category: General
Event ID: 102
Date: Date
Time: Time
User: UserName
Computer: ServerName
Description: (102) Transaction Integrator reported the following exception to the client:
Component: ComponentName
Method: MethodName

Exception description: (2137) The TCP transport received a CICS TRM reply length that is greater than the maximum allowed. Received length=1163548977, maximum allowed=512. IP Address: MFSYS, port: 3050, transid: , Listener type: Standard. Make sure that the CICS Listener configuration matches the RE settings.
Notice that the event description shows the transid as a space instead of the TP name.
