FIX: The Web page does not work as expected when you update the content in an ASP.NET Web application (908001)

SYMPTOMS

When you update the content in a Microsoft ASP.NET Web application, the updated application may not compile correctly. Therefore, the Web page does not work as expected.

This problem occurs when the Web server is experiencing heavy load conditions.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when external references and dependencies do not resolve correctly.

RESOLUTION

Software update information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 service pack that contains this hotfix.
