When you use the "Notify your manager of time that you will not be available for project work" feature in an administrative project, the feature may unexpectedly produce actual work time.

You cannot build an OLAP cube after you add more than one custom outline code for a project

After you add more than one custom outline code for a project, you cannot build an OLAP cube. Additionally, an event that is similar to the following event is logged in the Application log:Event Type: Error

The duration of the task may be shortened when you enter "0" for a day's actual work in Project Professional 2003 and enter "0" for another day's actual work in PWA 2003

Consider the following scenario. You enter 0 for a day's actual work in Project Professional 2003. Then, you enter 0 for another day's actual work in Project Web Access (PWA) 2003. In this scenario, the duration of the task may be unexpectedly shortened.

Unavailable time may be added to the actual work in an administrative project

After you use the "Notify your manager of time that you will not be available for project work" feature to notify your manager that you are unavailable for an administrative project in PWA 2003, unavailable time may be unexpectedly added to the actual work.

The remaining work time is not updated after you update remaining work time in PWA 2003

When you update the remaining work time in PWA 2003, the remaining work time is not updated in Project Professional 2003. Additionally, if you refresh the PWA 2003 session, the remaining work time changes back to original value that existed before you updated the remaining work time in PWA 2003.

You cannot access the "Connect to SharePoint server" page when Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) have different language settings

When Internet Explorer and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) have different language settings, you cannot access the Connect to SharePoint server page. Additionally, you receive the following error message in Internet Explorer:
You receive an error when you add a filter to a project view

Consider the following scenario. You create a new project view. You add a filter to the project view. Then, you save the project view. In this scenario, you receive an error that states that the filer is invalid and that the filter cannot be applied to the project view. This issue typically occurs when you use the French version of PWA.

WSS links still exist in the left pane in PWA 2003 even after you turn the features off for all users

If you turn off WSS integration features such as Documents, Issues, and Risks, the features are removed from the menu bar. However, the features still appear on the left pane as collaboration links.

You receive a "Do you want to display the non-secure items?" message even when you visit an SSL-enabled PWA 2003 page

When you visit a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)-enabled PWA 2003 page, you may receive a message that is similar to the following message:Because an SSL-enabled page is a secure page, you do not expect this message.

If the Auto Site Creation setting is turned off, new resources are not added to the WSS site when the assignments are published

Consider the following scenario. You set the Auto Site Creation setting to Off. You add a new user. Then, you publish an assignment for the resource. In this scenario, the new resource is not added to the WSS site.

If you try to open two status reports from your team members at the same time in PWA 2003, you receive a server script error

Consider the following scenario. You are using PWA 2003. You select two reports on the View status report response from your team members page at the same time. Then, you click Open. In this scenario, you receive an error message that is similar to the following error message:
When you click Save Link on the Resource Center page, filter information is not correctly saved

Consider the following scenario. You change the filter information in View Options on the Resource Center page. Then, you click Save Link to save the filter information. In this scenario, the filter information is not correctly saved.

The Options button and the Commands button are still available on the Portfolio Analyzer page after you configure Project Server 2003 to hide these buttons

You configure Project Server 2003 to hide the Options button and the Commands button on the Portfolio Analyzer page. However, the Options button and the Commands button are still available on the Portfolio Analyzer page.

A COM+ Error event is logged when you click multiple links on the Issues page

When you quickly click multiple links on the Issues page, the following COM+ Error event may be logged in the Application event log:Event Type: Error

The resource's unit value may not be correctly calculated when you assign a resource to a non-effort driven task

Consider the following scenario. You enter a work value for a task. You clear the Effort driven check box on the Advanced tab. Then, you assign a resource to a task. In this scenario, the resource's unit value may not be correctly calculated in Project Professional 2003. For example, you have a task in which the work value is 24 hours and the resource ability is 8 hours per day. You may expect the resource's unit value to be 100 percent and the task duration to be extended to 3 days. However, the resource's unit value is 300 percent. The task duration is extended to 3 days.

The cells on the Adjust Actuals page are not correctly highlighted after an Adjust Actuals transaction is rejected

Consider the following scenario. After an Adjust Actuals transaction is rejected, you click Updated Actuals again. You may receive a message that states that the transaction is sent. In this scenario, the cells on the Adjust Actuals page are highlighted blue. Blue cells indicate that the project manager accepted the hours. However, you expect the cells to be highlighted red. Red cells indicate that the project manager rejected the hours. If you log on to PWA as a project manager, you do not find the transaction on the Updates page. It seems that the transaction was not sent.

You receive a script error after you change the value of the "Maximum number of hours that can be entered per day for a single task" box in the Customize Project Web Access page

If you change the value of the Maximum number of hours that can be entered per day for a single task box in the Customize Project Web Access page, you may receive a script error when you save the changes. This issue typically occurs when you use the French version of PWA.

You see the changes that you did not save on the "View my tasks" page

You make some changes to the View my tasks page. You do not click Save Changes before you log off. When you log on again, you see the changes that you did not save on the View my tasks page.

The date format on the Timesheet view of the "View my tasks" page does not provide the details that you require

If you set a data range that spans the boundary of two months on the Timesheet view of the View my tasks page, the date format may not provide the details that you require. For example, if you configure a data range of "2005-4-29" to "2005-5-1", the following time periods appear in the timesheet:

• Fri 29
• Sat 30
• Sun 31
• Mon 1

However, you expect the month information to appear because the period spans two months.

When you remove a note from a task, the note still appears after you republish the task to a resource

Consider the following scenario. You add a note to a task and then publish the task to a resource. Then, you remove the note. In this scenario, the note still appears in the resource's timesheet after you republish the task.

You may receive an Active Directory sync error when you update settings for a large Active Directory group

When you click Update Now on the Server configuration page to update settings for a large Active Directory group, you may receive an Active Directory sync error. The Active Directory sync error is caused by a time out that occurs in the Microsoft OLE DB provider for Microsoft SQL Server. Additionally, the following Error event may be logged:
Auto filter settings on the Resource Center page cannot be saved

Consider the following scenario. You turn on the auto filter on the Resource Center page. You apply this auto filter to the grid. Then, you click Save Link. In this scenario, the auto filter disappears when you click the saved link.

When a resource submits an update for a timesheet, all the previous timesheets appear again

When a resource submits an update for a timesheet, all the previous timesheets appear again on the resource manager's Home page and on the Timesheet Approval page. This problem may occur if managed periods are used.

A project does not appear in the list of projects to be checked in after the user who checked out the project is renamed in PWA 2003

Consider the following scenario. A user checks out a project. Then, this user is renamed in PWA 2003. In this scenario, the project does not appear in the list of projects to be checked in.

You receive many errors when the Web language differs from the locale language

If you change the Web language so that it differs from the locale language, you receive many errors. Additionally, problems with permissions occur. For example, this issue may occur if you set the Web language to French, but you set the locale language, also known as the locale/country ID (LCID), to French (Canadian).

Initial assignment units are not correctly set when you create tasks in PWA 2003

When you create tasks in PWA 2003, the initial assignment units are not correctly set.

It may take you a long time to save a project that has a large enterprise resource pool

It may take you a long time to save a project that has a large enterprise resource pool. If you use SQL Profiler to take a trace of the project database, a select clause takes a long time to finish. Additionally, you may experience some other performance issues.

Warning If you are using case-sensitive collation on the server, you cannot use Project Server 2003 SP2a. To use this software update, you must change the connection string to use the SQLCaseInsensitive=True parameter. Additionally, users who are not using case-sensitive servers must modify the Websps.sql file and then rerun this file.

The Resource Center page takes a long time to load after the view tables have been partitioned

After you partition the view tables, the Resource Center page takes a long time to load. Sometimes, you may receive the following error message in Internet Explorer if the Resource Center page takes a long time to load:
A blank page appears in PWA 2003 after you click the Back button in Internet Explorer

Consider the following scenario. You click Documents in PWA 2003. You visit some publish documents or share documents, and then you visit other pages. Then, you click the Back button in Internet Explorer. In this scenario, a blank page is loaded. However, you expect to go back to the Documents page.

Additional table scans may occur if the MSP_WEB_SP_QRY_GetProjectsForOwner stored procedure uses an OR condition

The MSP_WEB_SP_QRY_GetProjectsForOwner stored procedure uses an OR condition when it obtains rows from the MSP_WEB_PROJECTS table. When the MSP_WEB_SP_QRY_GetProjectsForOwner stored procedure uses an OR condition, additional table scans may occur. Additionally, performance may be affected.

You receive a script error when you try to create a subtask

Consider the following scenario. The "See projects in Project Views" permission is set to Denied for the My Tasks category. You try to create a subtask. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
You cannot update databases when you install Microsoft Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) on Project Server 2003

When you install Microsoft Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) on Project Server 2003, you receive a warning message that states that only the default database will be updated if the server contains more than one database. The message also states that the Insdeflp.sql file will have to be run against the other databases. However, the message does not indicate the location of the Insdeflp.sql file. The Insdeflp.sql file is never installed to the system. Therefore, you cannot run the script against the other Project Server databases.

You cannot add new enterprise resources to the enterprise resource pool

When you try to add a new enterprise resource to the enterprise resource pool, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following error message when you try to save the changes:
You cannot use Project Professional 2002 to publish a project that was created from a PDS file to Project Server 2003

Consider the following scenario. A Project Data Service (PDS) request file contains code that is similar to the following XML code:

You use this file to create a project. In this scenario, you cannot use Microsoft Office Project Professional 2002 to publish the project to Project Server 2003.

Error signature details

You may receive an error message that is similar to the following error message when you use Project Server 2003: When you view the data in the error report, the error report contains an error signature that is similar to the following error signature:
