The Transfer Site Settings Wizard does not transfer or export the Remote Tools Client Agent settings in SMS 2003 (906322)


The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

You try to use the Transfer Site Settings Wizard to transfer or to export site configuration settings in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003. However, the Remote Tools Client Agent settings are not transferred to another site in the SMS hierarchy or exported to an .xml file.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the following Remote Tools Client Agent settings are not included in the Masterlist.xml file:
  • Manage Remote Assistance
  • Override Remote Assistance
  • Do not install Remote Control components for Advanced Clients running Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or later
  • Level of remote access allowed

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download and install the latest SMS 2003 Administration Feature Pack. To download the feature pack, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
