How to delete the SEM <EngineName>_engine.exe signature file in Antigen for Exchange (905961)



The information in this article applies to:

  • Sybari Antigen 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange
  • Sybari Antigen 7.5 for Microsoft Exchange

INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to delete the Sybari Enterprise Manager (SEM) EngineName_engine.exe signature file. You may want to delete this file if you are using Sybari Antigen for Exchange.

By default, the following signature files are downloaded when you install SEM:
  • EngineName_engine.exe
  • Update.ini
  • EngineName_engine.syb
Antigen for Exchange requires only the following SEM signature files:
  • Update.ini
  • EngineName_engine.syb
Antigen for Exchange does not use the EngineName_engine.exe signature file. This file is used for manual updating purposes.

If you are using SEM with Antigen for Exchange, you can safely delete the EngineName_engine.exe signature file. To delete this file, follow these steps:
  1. Move to the following location:

    http://your_server_name/semconsole/EngineManagement.aspx

  2. Click the engine that you want to modify.
  3. In the EngineFileList box, delete the following text:

    EngineName_engine.exe

    The EngineFileList box now contains the following text:

    update.ini;EngineName_engine.syb

  4. Click Next.
  5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each engine that you downloaded.
