How to disable the Advanced Spam Manager (ASM) junk mail setting in Antigen (905958)

This article describes how to disable the Advanced Spam Manager (ASM) junk mail setting. You must disable the ASM junk mail setting before you can remove Sybari Antigen.

To disable the ASM junk mail setting, follow these steps before you stop the Exchange Server services and the Antigen services:
  1. Start the Sybari Client (SybariClient.exe).
  2. In Shuttle Navigator, click Settings, and then click General Options.
  3. Under Scanning, click to clear the Enable Junk Mail Folders check box.
  4. Wait for Antigenservice.exe to finish removing the junk mail folders.
After the junk folders have been removed, stop the Exchange Server services and the Antigen services. Then, you can remove Antigen.

When the Enable Junk Mail folder check box is selected, mail that is identified as spam is routed to a new folder in each user's mailbox. This new folder is called the Junk Mail folder. To use the Junk Mail folder feature, Advanced Spam Manager must be installed on the server that is running Exchange Server.
