You may receive the "Cannot find world:global:sounds:vosounds in gas tree!" error message when you start Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna (905696)

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method1: Replace the Expansion.dsres file

1. Double-click My Computer, and then locate the following folder where Drive represents the drive where the game is installed:

   Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Dungeon Siege\DSLOA

2. Locate and then right-click Expansion.dsres.
3. Click Delete. If you do not find the Expansion.dsres file in the Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Dungeon Siege\DSLOA folder, go to step 4.
4. When you are prompted to confirm the file deletion, click Yes.
5. Insert Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna Disc 3 into the CD or DVD drive.
6. Locate the following folder, where CD Drive is the CD drive or the DVD drive:

   CD Drive:\Files\DSLOA

7. Copy the EXPANS_1.DSR file from the CD Drive:\Files\DSLOA folder on the Dungeon Siege CD to the Program Files\Microsoft Games\Dungeon Siege\DSLOA folder on the hard disk drive.
8. Right-click EXPANS_1.DSR, click Rename, type Expansion.dsres, and then press ENTER.
9. Right-click Expansion.dsres, click Properties, click to clear the Read-only check box, and then click OK.

Method 2: Remove and then reinstall Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna, and then click Add/Remove.
4. Click Uninstall, and then click OK.
   
   Note Do not click to select the Remove saved games check box.
5. Reinstall Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna
