SYMPTOMS
When you try to install or uninstall the Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit for Windows XP, you may receive one of the following error messages:

Uninstall aborted.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the Windows Scripting Engine is missing or damaged.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 %windir%\system32\vbscript.dll, and then click OK.
This command repairs the Windows Scripting Engine. - If the problem still occurs, reinstall the Windows Scripting Engine.
