Icons for some inactive monitors do not appear on the Settings tab in the "Display Properties" dialog box in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 (904672)

SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You attach more than one monitor to a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Server 2003. You set a desktop background for a mirrored display. When you view the Settings tab in the Display Properties dialog box, you expect an icon to represent each active and inactive monitor in the Drag the monitor icons to match the physical arrangement of your monitors section. However, some inactive monitors are not represented by an icon.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, set the desktop background for the mirrored display to (None).STATUSMicrosoft
