SYMPTOMSOn a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, a Microsoft COM+ application stops responding to DCOM requests from remote clients. Additionally, desktop icons and the taskbar may not appear as expected when you log on to the computer.CAUSEThis problem occurs because of a deadlock condition in the remote procedure call (RPC) subsystem library (Rpcss.dll). The deadlock condition may also cause the Windows logon process (Winlogon.exe) to fail.RESOLUTIONHotfix rollup package informationThis problem is fixed in Windows Server 2003 Post-Service Pack 1 COM+ 1.5 Hotfix Rollup Package 7.
