You receive an "Object doesn't support this property or method" error message when you click Diagram in the Operator Console in Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (901054)


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

SYMPTOMS

When you click Diagram in the Operator Console in Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005, you receive the following error message:
An error occurred on line 181 while executing script 'Exchange - Topology Discovery'
Source: Microsoft JScript runtime error
Description: Object doesn't support this property or method

CAUSE

This problem occurs if all the following conditions are true:
  • The version of Windows Script Host (WSH) that is installed on a server that is running either Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 is earlier than WSH 5.5.
  • This Exchange server is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.
  • This Exchange server is included in the Microsoft Exchange Topology Discovery Computers group.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem you must install WSH 5.5 on the Exchange server that is included in the Microsoft Exchange Topology Discovery Computers group. To download the latest version of WSH, visit the Microsoft Download Center.
