SYMPTOMS

When you click the Bills tab in Microsoft Money 2006, Money 2006 unexpectedly quits without an error message.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • There is an account name or an investment name that is longer than 64 characters.
  • The account name or the investment name is associated with one of the following Bill series:
    • Transfer
    • Credit Card Payment
    • Buy
  • You do not specify a payee name when you create one of these Bill series.
In this scenario, a payee name is automatically created from the account name or from the investment name. Therefore, the payee name may be longer than 64 characters. A payee name that is longer than 64 characters causes this issue to occur.
