SYMPTOMSWhen you click the Bills tab in Microsoft Money 2006, Money 2006 unexpectedly quits without an error message.CAUSEThis issue occurs when the following conditions are true: - There is an account name or an investment name that is longer than 64 characters.
- The account name or the investment name is associated with one of the following Bill series:
- Transfer
- Credit Card Payment
- Buy
- You do not specify a payee name when you create one of these Bill series.
In this scenario, a payee name is automatically created from the account name or from the investment name. Therefore, the payee name may be longer than 64 characters. To add a payee name, follow these steps:
- Start Money 2006.

- Click Change Report Settings.
- Click Switch from Essential Reports to Advance Reports, and then click Use Advance Reports.
