You may receive an error message when you try to verify a MapPoint Location Server installation (900765)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to verify a Microsoft MapPoint Location Server installation according to the instructions that are in the "Verify your Installation" section of the "MapPoint Location Server Administrator's Guide," you may receive the following error message when you try to visit the https://YourDomain/mmlsservice/locationservice.asmx Web page:
Server Error in '/MMLSService' Application. Access to the path "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\Temporary ASP.NET Files\mmlsservice\2e0e21ba\e4afc8d6" is denied.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if Microsoft ASP.NET is corrupted on the application server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove ASP.NET from the application server. Then, reinstall ASP.NET. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
  3. Click to select the Application Server check box, and then click Details.
  4. Click to clear the ASP.NET check box, click OK, click Next to remove ASP.NET, and then click Finish.
  5. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
  6. Click to select the Application Server check box, and then click Details.
  7. Click to select the ASP.NET check box, click OK, click Next to reinstall ASP.NET, and then click Finish.
You may have to restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
