FIX: The QueryInterface method fails when you query the ITransactionOptions interface (900464)

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use the QueryInterface method to query the IUnknown interface on a transaction object. This transaction object also implements the ITransaction interface.
  • You use the QueryInterface method to query the returned interface for the ITransactionOptions interface.
In this scenario, the QueryInterface method for the ITransactionOptions interface fails, and you receive an E_NOINTERFACE error 80004002.

When you try to call the ITransactionOptions interface from a Microsoft .NET COM interop assembly, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Unable to get transaction option object Specified cast is not valid.

RESOLUTION
