FIX: The message ID property of a received Message Queuing message is truncated when you use the BizTalk Adapter for MSMQ (899513)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for MSMQ

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for MSMQ to receive a Microsoft Message Queuing message, the message ID property is truncated. The new message ID property includes the computer GUID and up to six digits of the unique identifier. This problem may cause your solution to fail if you use the message ID and the message CorrelationID properties of Message Queuing messages for correlation.

Note Message Queuing generates a message ID property when the message is sent. The identifier is 20 bytes long and includes the following two items:
  • The computer GUID of the sending computer
  • A unique identifier for the message that is on the computer
The combination of these two items creates a message identifier that is unique on the network.
