After you assign a manager to a user in Microsoft CRM 1.2, you cannot remove that manager assignment (899469)

SYMPTOMS

After you assign a manager to a user in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, you cannot remove that manager assignment. When you try to remove that manager's name, you receive the following error message:
You currently do not have a Manager selected to move this record(s) to. Make a selection and try again.
You also receive this error message when you try to assign a blank manager value to that user. You expect to be able to remove a manager assignment by using the Microsoft CRM Web client.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
