SYMPTOMSOn a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, the screen may become black when you do either of the following: - While Media Center is running in windowed mode, you run the Configure Your TV or Monitor wizard. You select Composite or S-Video for your connection type. Then, you switch to full-screen mode. In this situation, only the pointer is visible.
- While Media Center is running in full-screen mode, you run the Configure Your TV or Monitor wizard. You select Composite or S-Video for your connection type. Then, you select the Preview Automatic Adjustment option on the Optimize Media Center for Your Display screen.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when you use composite output or S-Video output in combination with a PAL TV signal.
