How to implement Message Queuing 3.0 in a server cluster (898945)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ) 3.0

INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to implement Microsoft Message Queuing 3.0 and Message Queuing triggers in a server cluster by creating Message Queuing resources and Message Queuing trigger resources in the cluster.

MORE INFORMATION

A server cluster is a group of independent servers that do the following:
  • Run the Cluster service.
  • Work collectively as a single system by grouping together multiple servers that are running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition or Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition.
Server clusters minimize downtime of server applications and resources during server failures and during planned outages. If one of the servers in a cluster is unavailable because of failure or maintenance, resources and applications move to another available cluster node.
