SYMPTOMS
When you perform a free text search in Microsoft Commerce Server 2002, you may receive the following error message:
Source:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL ServerDescription:Invalid column name 'FREETEXTSEARCH_Rank'.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Source:Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL ServerDescription:Invalid column name 'FREETEXTSEARCH_Rank'.
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Commerce Server 2002 service pack that contains this hotfix.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. Hotfix installation information
To apply this hotfix, follow these steps:
- Delete the ctlg_GetCategoryResults stored procedure.
- Re-create the ctlg_GetCategoryResults stored procedure by using the 1621.sql file that is included with this hotfix.
