SYMPTOMS
You receive an error message when you try to use a Radia Application Manager transform file to install Office 2003 on a Windows 2000 Professional-based computer. This error occurs when you use the Radia Application Manager transform file from an HTTP location.
The error message is similar to the following:
Microsoft Office 2003 Setup
Error 1308. Setup cannot find the required file http://path/Files/Pfiles/Msoffice/Office11/Office.dll.
Check your connection to the network, or CD-ROM drive.

After you click
OK in the error message dialog box, you receive another error message that is similar to the following:
IEExec.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x680 (1664), Thread id =0x67c (1660)
Additionally, the verbose log file contains an error message that is similar to the following:
Error 1308: Setup cannot find the required file filename Files/Pfiles/Msoffice/Office11/Office.dll
RESOLUTION
Microsoft does not support the installation of Office 2003 from an HTTP location. Additionally, Microsoft does not support the use of third-party vendor customizations or utilities for the installation of Microsoft Office products.
