SYMPTOMS

When you try to start Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight, you may receive an error message that states that a file is missing or damaged.

For example, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\Gps_export.dll' file is missing or damaged.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the file that is specified in the error message is not installed or is damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, replace the file that is listed in the error message with a new copy of the file. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight disk 2.
  2. Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
  3. Click the drive that contains the Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight disk 2.
  4. Double-click Msgames3.cab.
  5. Right-click the file that is specified in the error message, such as Gps_export.dll, and then click Copy.
  6. Locate and then right-click the folder that is specified in the error message.
  7. Click Paste.
  8. Quit Windows Explorer, and then try to start Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight.
