SYMPTOMS

When you try to enter a time entry in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting, you may receive the following message: Please set Duration to a positive time of less than or equal to 24 hours.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you try to enter a number in the Duration (hours) box that is not greater than 0 and that is not less than or equal to 24.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, enter a number in the Duration (hours) box that is greater than 0 and that is less than or equal to 24.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. In the Navigation Pane pane, click Employees.
  2. Under Start a Task, click New Employee.
  3. Enter a name in the Employee name box.
  4. Click Save and Close.
  5. In the Navigation Pane pane, click Employees.
  6. Under Start a Task, click New Time Entry.
  7. In the Employee Name box, select the new employee who you created.
  8. In the Duration (hours) box, enter 0 or a number that is greater than 24.
  9. Click Save and Close.
