INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 issues that are fixed in the Outlook 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated April 28, 2005.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue:

  • 897658 You receive an "An error occurred adding the following Windows SharePoint Services folder to Outlook" error message when you link a Windows SharePoint Services Calendar or Events list to Outlook 2003

This hotfix package also fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • You use a rule that sends a reply e-mail message in Outlook 2003. In this rule, the reply e-mail message uses a template that includes images and HTML formatting. When you use this rule, the reply e-mail message is delivered to a Microsoft Exchange Server recipient in the format that you expect. However, if the reply e-mail message is delivered to a non-Exchange Server recipient, the images are sent as attachments, and much of the HTML formatting is missing.

    This issue may occur when you use a rule that uses the following settings:
    • Apply this rule after the message arrives
    • Reply using a specific template
  • The TAB key may no longer function in the e-mail message if the following conditions are true:
    • You programmatically insert text into an e-mail message.
    • The Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro uses the HTMLBody property.

  • The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix on a computer that is running Office 2003 with Office 2003 SP1 installed or on a computer that is running Office 2003 without Office 2003 SP1 installed. However, we have tested this hotfix more extensively on a computer that is running Office 2003 with Office 2003 SP1 installed than we have on a computer that is running Office 2003 without Office 2003 SP1 installed. If you install this hotfix on a computer that is running Office 2003 without Office 2003 SP1 installed, some file conflicts might occur. We support this configuration, but we do not recommend this configuration.
