Hotfix files are not removed when you try to uninstall a SQL Server 2000 64-bit hotfix or a SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services 64-bit hotfix that you installed by using Windows Installer 2.0 (896560)

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition 64 bit
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition 64-bit
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services 64 bit

SYMPTOMS

You cannot uninstall any Microsoft SQL Server 2000 64-bit hotfix or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services 64-bit hotfix that you installed by using Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0.

If you try to uninstall a 64-bit hotfix, the installation engine will not block the attempt, and you will not receive an error message. However, the hotfix files are not actually removed.
