You may receive a "CD Creation Error" error message when you try to create a DVD in Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (896471)

SYMPTOMSIf you use the Sonic Solutions DVD creation
engine when
you try to add files to the DVD-burning catalog in Microsoft Windows XP Media Center
Edition 2005, you may receive the following error message:
CD Creation Error: The CD drive currently contains the
wrong type of CD. Please insert a writable CD. Note The Sonic Solutions DVD creation engine
is technically known as the Sonic AuthorScript Video Engine. CAUSEThis problem occurs if you add file types to the burning
catalog that are not supported by the Sonic Solutions
DVD creation engine.WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use one of the following
methods:
- Remove the unsupported files from the burning catalog
before you use
the Sonic
Solutions DVD creation engine
to burn a DVD.
- Create a data DVD in Media Center.

To do this, click the Help icon on the upper-left of the Media Center start screen, click Help, and then click Media Files. The "Archive media files to a CD or DVD" topic is located on the MEDIA FILES screen. - Burn the selected files in Windows Explorer.
