SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Security Update MS05-011, you cannot save, rename, or copy files from an Adaptec Snap server to a client computer. The Adaptec Snap server is a network-attached storage device.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because after you install Microsoft Security Update MS05-011, computers analyze AndX responses to help make sure that a matching exchange exists. With some Snap servers, a matching exchange does not exist.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact Adaptec to obtain a fix for this issue.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, disable NTSMBs by deselecting the Enable NTSMBs option.
