SYMPTOMSWhen you click Trace Precedents on the Formula Auditing toolbar to locate the precedent cells that are used by a formula in Microsoft Excel, the bullet that is located at the start of the tracer arrows will randomly appear and disappear when you scroll through the Microsoft Excel worksheet window.CAUSEThis problem occurs if one of the following conditions is true: - The formula that you want to trace precedents for is separated by a minimum of 230 rows in the Excel worksheet.
- The formula that you want to trace precedents for is separated by a minimum of 230 columns in the Excel worksheet.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
