SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You have both Microsoft Windows 2000-based and Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based global catalog servers in a forest. You expand the Partial Attribute Set (PAS) on a Windows Server 2003-based global server. The global catalog servers in the forest perform a full synchronization to replicate the changes that were made on the Windows Server 2003-based global server. In this scenario, if the global catalog servers in the forest perform a full synchronization, the global catalog servers contain incomplete data.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the forest consists of global catalog servers that are running different operating systems.
