This Support WebCast will define troubleshooting issues in Microsoft PowerPoint and provide an overview of when and how to use available resources such as product Help and Microsoft Knowledge Base articles. We will also discuss how to determine where a problem is occurring and how to troubleshoot specific issues such as printing, opening a file, installation, movies, and starting the program.

This is a Level200 session presented by Phil Melek and David Craig.

Philip Melek has been with Microsoft since 1999 and has worked closely with Microsoft PowerPoint the whole time. He spent two years providing professional level PowerPoint support, and then became a partner technical lead in 2001. He became involved in supporting the agents that deliver support to Microsoft's customers at the personal level of support, with a focus on improving the customer's support experience upgrading the skill set of agents who deliver that support. His duties include updating, creating and delivering new or existing training materials. Philip has been involved with the beta testing and training creation processes for the product releases of PowerPoint 2002 and PowerPoint 2003. David Craig began working for Microsoft in 1994. Over the years he has supported many different Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft OneNote. David is currently a member of the Microsoft Office Delta Force team, a high-level support team that works closely with the development team to resolve some of the toughest customer issues. His work at Microsoft has included many different roles: support escalation engineer, technical team leader, product escalation leader, and content manager. As content manager he was responsible for creating or reviewing most of the existing PowerPoint 97 and PowerPoint 2000 content. He has also written many tools and add-ins for PowerPoint and for Office. These include the Export to CDROM Wizard add-in, the Insert Windows Media Player add-in, and the Office 2000 Correct Flip Pictures add-in.
