Additional problems that are corrected with this hotfix

Server for NFS stops responding (hangs) when you list the contents of a folder that contains many similarly named hard links.
Server for NFS returns an incomplete list of files to clients that are listing folder contents at the same time.

If you apply this hotfix and then you choose to upgrade to Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 by using the Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 Migration Utility, you must follow these steps to successfully upgrade to Windows Services for UNIX 3.5.

To remove Server for NFS, follow step 1 in the installation guide that is included with the Windows Services for UNIX 3.5 Migration Utility. To view the installation guide, open the ReadMeFirst.chm file on the CD. Then, follow these steps:

In Control Panel, open Add/Remove Programs.
Locate hotfix 895398 in the list of installed applications.
To remove hotfix 895398, click Remove.

As soon as hotfix 895398 has been removed, continue to follow the installation steps in the installation guide.
