INTRODUCTION
This article describes the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services issue that is fixed in the Windows SharePoint Services post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated March 1, 2005.

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article.
- Text is not pasted in the box that contains the Rich-Text formatting toolbar
Consider the following scenario. You create a new list item or modify an existing list item in your Windows SharePoint Services Web site. You copy some text. In Microsoft Internet Explorer, you use the Paste command on the Edit menu to paste the text in the text box that contains the Rich-Text Formatting toolbar. However, the text is not pasted into the box.
Note The name of the text box depends on the type of list item that you work with. The name of the text box is Description when you work with tasks. The name of the text box is Body when you work with announcements.
You experience this symptom if the following conditions are true:
- You do not click a button on the Rich-Text Formatting toolbar in the text box before you click the Paste command on the Edit menu.
- The box does not contain any text.
If you press CTRL+V instead of clicking the Paste command, the text is pasted into the box.

Service pack information
This problem was first corrected in Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 2.
