A time stamp that is in a shared border is not updated after you upgrade from FrontPage 2000 to FrontPage 2002 (894633)

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You upgrade from Microsoft FrontPage 2000 to Microsoft FrontPage 2002.
  • You open a Web site in FrontPage 2002.
  • You modify a Web page that has a time stampthat is in a shared border.
In the current scenario, you may notice that the time stamp that is in the shared border is not updated when you modify the Web page. Additionally, when compared to FrontPage 2000, you may notice that in FrontPage 2002, the timestamp updates only if you modify the shared border on the Web page.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because in FrontPage 2000, the time stamp is updated when the Web page is modified. In FrontPage 2002, the time stamp is updated only when the shared border on the Web page is modified.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, modify the timestamp properties so that the timestamp updates automatically when you open the Web page. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office, and then click Microsoft FrontPage 2002.
  2. On the File menu, click Open Web, select the Web site that you want to modify, and then click Open.
  3. Open the Web page that contains the time stamp in a shared border.
  4. Right-click the time stamp, and then click Date and Time Properties.
  5. Under Display, click Date this page was last automatically updated, and then click OK.
  6. On the File menu, click Save to save the changes that you made.
  7. On the File menu, click Close Web.
  8. On the File menu, click Open Web to open the modified Web site.
  9. Open the Web page that you recently modified.
  10. Verify that the time stamp is updated.
  11. On the File menu, click Close Web.
  12. On the File menu, click Exit to close Microsoft FrontPage.
