This article discusses a problem where telephone numbers are padded with zeros when you use Microsoft Business Solutions - CRM 1.2 Integration for Great Plains. When the telephone number format is customized in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains, telephone numbers that are integrated to Great Plains are padded with zeros until they contain 14 characters.

You change the telephone number format in Great Plains to something other than the default format. When data is integrated from Microsoft Business Solutions CRM to Great Plains, telephone numbers are padded with zeros until they contain 14 characters.

The dates and times for the files that are installed with this hotfix are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Examine the files in the Program Files\Great Plains\Business Objects folder on the computer that is hosting Integration for Great Plains. All these files should be dated 26-Jan-2005, should be time-stamped 20:06 or later, and should be version 7.0.x.x.

To apply this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Stop the BizTalk Messaging Service and the CRM Integration Messaging Service to make sure that data that uses the existing Great Plains Business Objects COM+ components is not being passed. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
    2. Right-click BizTalk Messaging Service, and then click Stop.
    3. In the Stop Other Services dialog box, click Yes.
  2. Download the hotfix package to the computer that hosts the Microsoft Great Plains Business Objects COM+ components that are used by Integration for Great Plains.
  3. Make sure that you are logged on as a user who has Administrator privileges on this computer and in Integration for Great Plains.
  4. Double-click the downloaded Microsoft Great Plains Business Objects.msi file.
After you apply the hotfix, restart the Biztalk Messaging Service and the CRM Integration Messaging Service.
