FIX: An application cannot display a large JPEG image in Windows CE 5.0 (894380)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Windows CE 5.0, an application that uses the JPEG decoder cannot decode and display a large JPEG image.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the following conditions are true:
  • The image is larger than 1,920,000 pixels.
  • The length or width of the image is not evenly divisible by the common scaling factors of one-half, one-fourth, or one-eighth.
When an application tries to display this image, the JPEG decoder cannot scale down the JPEG image.

Prerequisites

This software update is supported only if all previously issued software updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this software update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
