Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • You receive an "Item does not exist" error message when you click Edit to modify an item in the Search Results window in a Windows SharePoint Services Web site

After you search for a document in a Windows SharePoint Services document library, when you click Edit in the Search Results window to modify the returned document, you receive the following error message:
Item does not exist. The page you selected contains an item that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user. Click "Home" at the top of page to return to your Web site.
This problem occurs if all the following conditions are true:
    • You create a document library in a Windows SharePoint Services Web site.
    • You create a subfolder in that document library.
    • You upload a document to the subfolder in that document library.
    • You create a new view by adding the Edit (Link to edit item) field to that view.
    • You specify this new view as the default view.
In this scenario, the Edit button does not correctly render the destination URL if the content that you want to modify is located in a subfolder of the search location.
  • Graphical survey summary results may not add up to 100 percent in Windows SharePoint Services

In Windows SharePoint Services, if you generate a graphical summary for the results of a survey, the percentages of those summarized results may not add up to 100 percent.

This problem may occur if the summary result does not divide evenly into 100. When Windows SharePoint Services receives the result of a division operation, it truncates those results to obtain an integer result.

Note After you install this hotfix, Windows SharePoint Services uses Banker's Rounding to obtain the integer result of a division operation instead of truncating a non-integer result. Therefore, you may still receive results that do not add up to 100 percent. For additional information about the differences between particular rounding schemes, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
