The last few characters in the Description field of the invoice are missing when you try to print an invoice in Money (894020)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to print an invoice in Microsoft Money, the last few characters in the Description field of the printed invoice are missing. Additionally, you can only see half of the last letter that is printed.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you type more than 185 characters in the Description field of the invoice in Money. The Description field lets you type approximately 255 characters. However, you can only print 185 characters.

Note The number of characters that you can type in the Description field or see on the printed invoice depends on the width of the font that you use.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

Use a different template

The number of characters that you can print in the Description field varies depending on the template that you use for the invoice. Apply a template that lets you print more characters in the Description field.

For example, the Harland Product template in Microsoft Money 2003 lets you print the most characters on the invoice.

Modify the existing template

The templates that let you print the most characters in the Description field also print fewer items in the invoice. Use the Money Invoice Designer to remove some items from the template that you want to use. This will make the Description field larger on the invoice template. When you print the invoice, more characters will be printed in the Description field. For more information about how to use the Money Invoice Designer, see the Help file in your version of Money.

Change the location of some of the items in the invoice

If you can only see half of the last character on the printed invoice, use the Money Invoice Designer to change the location of some of the items in the invoice. For example, change the location of the (Qty/Hours) item. For more information about how to use the Money Invoice Designer, see the Help file in your version of Money.
