SYMPTOMS

You cannot open a mail folder or access a calendar that belongs to another user account if you are using the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector in Microsoft Outlook 2002.

For example,Open Other User's Folder is unavailable on the File menu under Open when you try to open a mail folder or access a calendar that belongs to another user account.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when you have a Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) e-mail account as the primary account and an MSN e-mail account as a secondary account in your Outlook Connector for MSN profile in Outlook 2002. This issue does not occur if you use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 to access the two e-mail accounts in the same manner.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, you can make the MSN account the primary account in your Outlook Connector for MSN profile. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Tools, and then click E-mail Accounts.
  2. Click View or Change Existing E-mail Accounts, and then click Next.
  3. Click your MSN account in the list of accounts.
  4. Click Set as Default.
  5. Click your MSN account in the Deliver new e-mail to the following location list.
  6. Click Finish, and then restart Outlook 2002 for the changes to take effect.
