FIX: The function call may not correctly work when a Terminal Server-based application calls the SCardListReaders function in Windows CE 5.0 (892204)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows CE 5.0

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. In Windows CE 5.0, a smart card is attached to a Windows CE Terminal Services Client. A Terminal Server-based application calls the SCardListReaders function for the smart card. In this scenario, the function call may not correctly work, and the Terminal Server-based application may unexpectedly close.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Windows CE Terminal Services Client incorrectly tries to allocate a temporary buffer by using the pcchReaders parameter even when the mszReaders parameter is NULL.
