Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • Users cannot use the CTRL+C and CTRL+V keyboard shortcuts to copy or to paste text in the box that displays the Rich-Text formatting toolbar when users create a new list item or modify an existing list item in Windows SharePoint Services

Consider the following scenario. The Swedish language template pack for Windows SharePoint Services is installed on a computer that is running the English version of Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 1 (SP1). You create a new Windows SharePoint Services Web site, and you set the language of the Web site to Swedish. Users create a new list item or modify an existing list item in the Web site. When users use keyboard shortcuts to copy or to paste text to the box that displays the Rich-Text formatting toolbar, the keyboard shortcuts do not work as expected. Users experience the following symptoms:
    • When users press CTRL+C to copy text in the box that displays the Rich-Text formatting toolbar, the text is centered. The text is not copied as expected.
    • When users press CTRL+V to paste text in the box that displays the Rich-Text formatting toolbar, the Align Left button on the toolbar is selected. The text is not pasted as expected.
Note The name of the box depends on the type of list item. For example, the name of the box is Description for tasks, and the name of the box is Body for announcements.
