You cannot use Input Method Editor when you use MSN Messenger in Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (890831)

SYMPTOMS

When you minimize the Microsoft MSN Messenger main window and you then receive a message on your Microsoft Windows XP-based computer with Service Pack 2 (SP2) applied, you cannot use Input Method Editor (IME) to enter characters into MSN Messenger. However, you can use the keyboard to type characters into MSN Messenger.

Note These keyboard-generated characters will be from a Roman character set.
