You receive the "Another version of this product is already installed" error message when you try to install Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006 (890593)

SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install Microsoft Office Small Business
Accounting 2006, you receive the following error message: Another version of this product is already installed. Installation
of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of
this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control
Panel. CAUSEThis problem occurs if the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
with Business Contact Manager Update is installed. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, remove the Microsoft Office Outlook
2003 with Business Contact Manager Update, and then install Small Business
Accounting. To do this, follow these steps: - Click Start, click Run,
type Appwiz.cpl, and then click
OK.
- In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box,
click Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager
Update, and then click Remove.
- Insert the Small Business Accounting installation CD into
the CD drive, and then install Small Business Accounting.
Note The Small Business Accounting 2006 Trial CD installs both
Business Contact Manager Update and Small Business Accounting. When you start Outlook, the
Business Contact Manager Startup Wizard appears. If you have an existing
Business Contact Manager database, click the Select a database option, type the name of the computer where the database is stored in the Computer name box, and then click Connect.
Note Do not remove Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine
(MICROSOFTSMLBIZ).
