FIX: You receive validation errors from the BizTalk Server Accelerator for HL7 when a message is processed after you define all the declared segments of a particular HL7 schema as "not required" (890348)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server Accelerator for HL7

SYMPTOMS

You use the Microsoft BizTalk Server Accelerator for HL7 (BTAHL7). After you define all the declared segments of a particular HL7 schema as "not required," you receive validation errors in BizTalk Server when a message is processed.

Note To define a declared segment of a schema as "not required," set the Min Occurs value of that segment to zero (0).

This problem occurs even if you have removed all declared Z segments from the schema.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the following conditions are both true:
  • The message that is processed contains undeclared Z segments.
  • Those Z segments are in the middle of the message instead of at the bottom of the message.
