The Run command line from this folder path setting is not retained after you change the Download folder path in SMS 2003 (890150)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

Assume that you create a program for a device in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 and the program source files contain sub-folders. If you follow these steps, the Run command line from this folder box may contain the wrong path:
  1. On the General tab of the Device Program Properties dialog box, you click Browse.
  2. You type a new path in the Download folder box to change the location of the Download folder.
For example, you change the location of the Download folder to \My Downloads\. If you click Browse, and then select a file from a sub-folder that is contained in the My Downloads folder, the Run command from this folder box may be set to \Temp\sub-folder name\.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must manually change the value in the Run command from this folder box to the correct path. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Systems Management Server, and then click SMS Management Console.
  2. In the SMS Management Console, expand Site Settings(SiteCode-SiteName), and then expand Packages.
  3. Select the packages that you want, click Programs, right-click the program for the device, and then click Properties.
  4. In the Device Program Properties dialog box, make sure that the Run command from this folder box contains the correct path. If the path is not correct, manually type the correct path in the Run command from this folder box.
  5. Click OK.
