A program may not be able to display an image by using the GDI+ API in Windows XP (889412)

SYMPTOMS

On a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP, a program may not be able to display an image by using the GDI+ application programming interface (API). This problem occurs when the computer meets one of the following conditions:
  • The computer has Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed.
  • The computer has Windows XP Service Pack 1 and the 833987 security update installed.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this hotfix.
