Known issues with third-party add-ins and Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight (888951)

Issue 1

After you install the Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight (Update), some third party add-ins may not work correctly, the game may stop responding, or you may receive an error message. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Download and install the latest version of Flight Simulator Universal Inter-Process Communication (FSUIPC) by Peter Dowson. To do this, visit the following Peter Dowson Web site:

2. If you have Active Camera 2004 by AntiCyclonE installed, obtain the latest version of Active Camera 2004. To do this, visit the following AntiCyclonE Web site:

Note If you play Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight after you install Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight (Update) and the latest version of Active Camera 2004 is not installed, the game may stop responding or crash.

Issue 2

When you play Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight, you may receive an error message. Additionally, the game may quit. When you start Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight, you may receive an error message that is similar to one of the following: You may receive this error message if you install a third-party add-in that is not compatible with Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight or if the FSUIPC.dll file is corrupted. To resolve this issue, remove and then reinstall Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight. To do this, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

1. Remove Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight by using the Add/Remove Programs utility in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
   2. In the list of currently installed programs, click the Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight game, and then click Remove.
   3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the folder and all its contents.
   4. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the removal process.
   5. Close the Add or Remove Programs window.
2. Remove the folder where the game was installed. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. Right-click Start, and then click Explore.
   2. Click the hard disk where Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight was installed.
   3. Double-click the Program Files folder, and then double-click the Microsoft Games folder.
   4. Click the Flight Simulator 9 folder.
   5. On the Edit menu, click Delete.
   6. Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the folder and all its contents.
3. Remove the folder that has saved game content. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. Click Start, and then click My Documents.
   2. Right-click the Flight Simulator Files folder, if it exists, and then click Delete.
      
      Note If the Flight Simulator Files folder does not exist, close the My Documents window, and then go to step 4.
   3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the folder and all its contents.
   4. Close the My Documents window.
4. Insert the first Flight Simulator 2004 - A Century of Flight installation CD into your CD drive or DVD drive. To complete the installation, follow these steps:
   1. Click Custom Install, and then click Next.
   2. Click Folder.
   3. Change the path to C:\Program Files\Microsoft games\FS2004.
   4. Click Install.
